Sunday I was at the International Book Fair in Turin.
huge, vast, too "commercial" for my taste (four steps someone trying to lure you in with its stand omaggini or whatever).
I counted at least five players stand to e-book, it seems that this is the time you actually part with digital publishing.
All of the games could evitarsela.
Gramellini was virtually everywhere, there was a debate-conference-meeting that did not participate as a speaker or a simple invitation.
A Swiss radio broadcast of live music by singer-songwriters from his stand.
For a change I took a lot of books
- WRITING ZEN Natalie Goldberg (Publisher Ubaldini): a handbook of creative writing interesting and useless as many of these manuals, but fun.
- Running with Scissors Augusten Burroughs (Alet): ill, splendid.
- E 'VAT Pier Mario Giovannelli (Empire): poetry in the form of a chair and not just interesting.
- ANTS EXTRAORDINARY Laura Lilli (Empire): stories in Italian and English. Interesting illustrations, well written.
- UNCERTAIN LATITUDE Massimo Giannotta (Empire): I got this case because there was a 3x2 booth of Empire. But I might have done better to choose something else. Poetry cumbersome, difficult, not to my taste.
- WATER ON ROADS Francesco Comino (Gross): As the subtitle says "drama in two acts and four continents." A dramatic story about water wars. TOILET ONE YEAR
- AA. VV. (80,144 editions): the best of the first year of Toilet, magazine fiction, "the hour of need." Variety, a bit of literary ingenuity, however interesting. And the guy at the booth gave me a canvas bag, which makes them definitely well liked.
In addition I have literally filled with brochures, catalogs, extracts from novels and novels to be published soon, luckily I managed to avoid the wild boys of the Mondadori that practically force people to do not really know what kind of card by dint of rhetorical questions (how do you ask someone "likes to read?" to the Book Fair?)
